Synopsis

hrowing itself out of the top of the Tepuy Auyan, extraordinary sandstone mesa which emerge in the Amazonian rainforest, the Angel fall touch the ground after a free fall of almost 1000 meters, being the highest waterfall on earth.

The film follows step by step an international team composed by some of the world's best climbers in an exceptional adventure : the free and 15 days long ascent of this incredible wall, the most overhanging on earth. Featuring Arnaud Petit and Stephanie Bodet, both former sport climbing world champions, the expedition goes first through a long river ride on canoe following the bended streams of the Rio Carrao to reach the base of the waterfall. On the wall, constantly threatened by the sudden and unrare swelling of the Angel fall, the difficulties follow one another during the ascent: the rock is often soaked, the holds are instable or even crispy, the hauling of all the equipment mobilize the strength of the whole team, the building of the high camp is a true challenge in the narrow and airy ledges, the food and the water have to be rationed. In spite of all, the team moves forward owing to their excellent skills, their unfailing mental strength and their humility. The promiscuity, the stress due to the weakness of the protections, in addition to the fatigue perturb sometimes human behaviour and reactions. But the group uses humour and patience to take it easy.

Will they reach the summit, this mythic place of exploration and veritable sanctuary of Nature ?
